Bacon Wrapped Prawns

These prawns are simple to make but really tasty. These make great canapés and starters or serve them as a main accompanied with other shellfish or a little salad or pasta.

Ingredients

Prawns

  • 24 large prawns, peeled and deviened (tails left on)
  • 12 rashers of rindless, sliced in half
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • freshly ground black pepper

To Serve

  • creme fraiche or sour cream
  • mango chutney (optional)

Method

  1. Prawns: Preheat a grill to high. Season the prawns with a little pepper, coat in the olive oil and wrap them tightly in the bacon rashers. Place the prawns on a grill pan covered in foil and place them under a hot grill. Cook the prawns for 2-3 minutes then turn them over and grill for a further 2-3 minutes. Serve or keep warm until ready to serve.
  2. To Serve: Serve the prawns with a creme fraiche or sour cream and mango chutney (optional).
