Glazed Fruit with Almonds

Simple glazed fruit makes an eye catching and tasty accompaniment to the christmas roast turkey, it also works well with leg of ham or roast goose or duck.

Glazed Fruit with Almonds

  • 6 figs, sliced in half
  • 3 satsumas (or a similar citrus fruit), quartered
  • or 6 apricots, quartered
  • 30g almonds (skin on or off)
  • 8 tbsp runny honey (if it is to firm heat it briefly)
  • 1-2 tbsp olive oil
  • ground cinnamon
  • ground ginger


  1. Glazed Fruits: Brush the cut sides of the fruit with the honey and sprinkle over a little cinnamon and ginger. Heat the oil in a frying pan and place the fruit in the pan cut side down until they are caramilised. Remove the pan and set aside. Add the almonds to the pan and cook until golden. Place the fruit around the turkey and serve. *the fruit can be prepared a day in advance if serving cold.
