Parnell Farmers’ market has been open since 2nd of November, 2007 and has adhered to the guidelines of the Farmers Market New Zealand Inc. in providing 80% of stalls which are growers or producers of what they sell. As an urban market we have always welcomed growers who are prepared to drive their produce to the market each Saturday. This has enabled us to provide a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables from as far as Kaikohe with Maori potatoes and avocados from the Bay of Plenty.

There is also a selection of more local produce from the greater Auckland region. The honey sold at the market is as local as the suburb of Grey Lynn. The Farmers’ Market was established by the Parnell Trust primarily to provide a hub for the local community which can be witnessed each Saturday morning as locals gather to shop and catch up.
