Every Saturday morning the northern carpark of Dunedin’s historic railway station comes alive with the Otago Farmers’ Market. Growers and producers from across the Otago region set up colourful stalls selling fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables, free‑range meat and eggs, cheeses, artisan breads, coffee, flowers and more. Many stallholders farm organically or use sustainable methods, and the market has become a showcase for Otago’s food culture.
Alongside produce you’ll find hot breakfasts, pastries and treats to enjoy while strolling through the market, with live music adding to the fun. The market runs rain or shine and is a favourite Saturday outing for locals and visitors alike. Bring your own bags and a hearty appetite – there’s plenty to sample.
