Located just off the Royal Mile, Ecco Vino is a wine bar that serves some very tasty food. Its lovely neo-Italian décor makes a lovely change from smoked filled bars so prevalent in Edinburgh.

The menu boasts about 50 different wines by the glass, along with food that is mainly Italian. It makes a change from most cafés, with their regulation house red and house white to choose from.

The food is simple and tasty, with selections of Antipasti, Panini, Frittata, Pasta (for the more hungry) and Insalatas. We opted for a Mixed Crostini and Mixed Antipasti, with a glass of Frascati and Donna Lisa Bianco.
