http://bluescotland.co.ukSituated in the Traverse, Blue is a restaurant that is easy-going, relaxed and pleasant. Its décor is smart and modern while still being comfortable. It really sits somewhere between a bistro and a restaurant, making it an ideal location for lunch or dinner.
We had heard good reports from others that had visited there, and so we were looking forward to try it for ourselves. Sarah started with the Emmenthal and Serrano Ham Tart, served with a Rocket Salad. I went for the Greek Salad. Both were nice starters, although I think the Greek Salad was a bit on the large size.
For mains, Sarah decided to have a second starter. This time, she ordered the Wood Pigeon with Potato Rosti and Boudin Noir. I opted for Beef Rib Eye with a Tomato Confit and Barnaise Sauce. While Sarah loved her wood pigeon, I would recommend that you ensure that the steak is not smothered in the barnaise sauce. Maybe the case of too much of a good thing!
Though I like more rib eye than sauce, overall we feel this is a restaurant that is worth a visit. We will be definitely visiting there again, as its atmosphere is relaxed, making it somewhere to have an easy-going lunch or dinner.
