St. Kilda Farmers Market

Veg Out Community Gardens began in 1998 on the site of the abandoned St Kilda bowling club that was about to be developed into a carpark. It is a non-profit, voluntary group comprised of local residents and community organizations who share the site made up of 150 garden plots.

Nearby Acland Street is a busy inner suburban shopping strip and tourist precinct, but no longer has a greengrocer or butcher leaving residents no choice but to rely on three multi-national supermarkets for their local household shopping.
