Welcome to our May edition of bare ingredients.
Welcome to our May edition of bare ingredients. Well, we managed to get through last month's busy schedule, with the whole team on the move a new premises, so we apologies for being a bit later out with this edition.
This month we finally see the winter begin to close in on us in the Southern Hemisphere, with longer nights and tempertures that encourage us to stay in. So, this month Sarah has prepared some warming dishes to tempt you back into the kitchen. In the Northern Hemisphere, we have lovely warm days to tempt you to eat al fresco. We have plenty of dishes that are well suited to eating out in the garden, so dust of the garden furniture and venture outdoors.
Seasons
Sarah has updated her seasonal recipes, bringing you plenty of fresh ideas using the best the seasons have to offer. Her "bare season" articles from the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere are excellent guides to help you choose the best produce where ever you are!
Books
This month we four book reviews for your enjoyment. The first is Amuse-bouch by Rick Tramonto and Mary Goodbody, a book of small bite which is an excellent source of ideas for party and finger food. The second book we have for you is Creole, written by Babette De Roziéres. It explores the fusion style of cooking that her grandmother taught her. The third book in our review is a British regional cookbook, called The Taste of Britain, which covers some great ingredients and suppliers from across the British Isles. Finally, we have a look at Giorgio Locetelli's Made In Italy, a beautiful book of recipes, ingredients and stories.

The keen eyed ones out there may have noted the new recipe list feature. It is a dynamic list of recipes that are being read now. It will let you see what is popular with the other readers, which can be varied to say the least. Over the next month or two, we will be allowing you to store a list of favourite recipes, so you can easily refer to them, so stay tuned.
