The Great British Bake Off is an excellent cookery show that really gets down to the nitty gritty of baking, while allowing competitors to show their own creativity. It is highly entertaining and has got many of the British public interested in baking again.

The book is based on the show and aims to show readers how to make good basic recipes into something really sensational. Each chapter starts with a basic recipe followed by more complicated recipes based on those basic lessons. Through the use of layers, stencils, chocolate decorations and added ingredients this book shows you how to make your own Showstoppers.

Chapters are based on type and style of bake ie: cakes, biscuits, tarts etc. These chapters include an introduction with clear guidelines and throughout the chapters you will find plenty of tips. Recipes in the book include Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood's foolproof recipes alongside competitor's best of the bake off. Plenty of mouth watering recipes both sweet and savoury. My Favourite recipes include "Fig, Walnut and Gruyère Bagels", "Chocolate, Macadamia and Coffee Torte" and "Mary's Toffee Apple and Pecan Pudding". Recipes are well laid out, easy to follow and each one accompanied by eye catching photographs of the finished dish.

Not just another television show cookbook but one with lots to inspire those already addicted to baking and a great guide to the amateur baker who really wants to cook some delicious recipes. Well worth a look at!
